PRIEST-IN-CHARGE

The Reverend Canon Simon Bell is the incumbent of St Margaret of Scotland and the Priest-in-Charge at Trinity Church Barrie, ON.

While he was born in England, he grew up in South Africa. His background is primarily in youth ministry, theological education, Social Anthropology and consultancy work. He has served the church on three continents - Africa, Europe and North America - and has served in a number of parishes as a youth and children's minister and is the author of a book on youth ministry in a multi-cultural context titled Happy in my Skin. He has served as the Advisor on multiculturalism to the Archbishops' Council of the Church of England and as a Congregational Development Consultant to the Diocese of Toronto. He has a passion for the out-doors and keeping critters. He enjoys canoeing, hiking, horse-riding and road trips and farms sheep in Tiny, ON.

Regional Minister

The Rev. Colin Bowler is a member of the Central Simcoe Regional Ministry team and works hand-in-hand with the Incumbent looking aft the needs of our parishioners and is a member of the Trinity’s Board of Management.

Part-Time Clergy

The Rev. Janet Mitchell is a part-time clergy and will be taking part in Sunday Services and leading Bible Studies. She is also Trinity’s Director of Music and oversees the church choir.

Board of Management

The Board of Management play an important role in the life of our church community. They are responsible for many of the day to day business aspects of running a parish. They also act with the Priest-in-Charge to form the corporate entity of the church. Although they technically have different titles, between them they share the responsibilities equally.

Members of Trinity’s Board of Management are: The Rev Canon Simon Bell - Chair; Judith Craig, Joan Hill, Bill Sergeant, Lynne Dryla and Jane Robinson.
