Announcements:
1. The next Retirees Meeting at Trinity will take place on 10 February 2026 at 2 pm in the Parish Hall. Ranger Bob (Garrett) will be conducting a “Winter Sowing Workshop”. See the poster on the right for more details.
2, We will be running Regional Adult and Youth Confirmation classes starting in January 2026. The Regional Confirmation Service will be on Easter Saturday on the 4th of April at 8:00 p.m. at St Margaret’s. Adult classes are being offered on Sundays at 12:30 starting on the 11th of January at St Margaret’s and will include a light lunch. The time of the youth classes is yet to be confirmed. 3. The next Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Saturday, 28 Feb 2026 at 5 pm. Tickets are $13 per person. Please contact Monica Cox if you can help provide a dessert. Please note that there will not be a Spaghetti Dinner in March.
4. Office Hours have changed! Gillian will be in the office from 9;00 am - 2:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
5. The Latino Ministry at St Margaret’s is celebrating their second anniversary on Sunday, February 15th. All are welcome to join them for a service at 4:00 pm followed by a celebratory pot luck.
6. The First Barrie Foresters Scout Troop is happy to be hosting their annual pancake dinner in the Trinity parish hall on Tuesday, February 17th from 5pm-7pm. All are welcome to come out and support the scouts while enjoying a delicious meal. Entry is by donation.
7. We will have two imposition of ashes services for Ash Wednesday on February 18th. A mid-day service at 12:15 pm and an evening service at 7:00 pm
8. The annual Lenten lunch & learns begin on Friday, February 20th. The service with a guest speaker will begin at 12:00 pm and will be followed by a lunch. This series will run every Friday in Lent. If a study group is more your speed, Canon Simon will be hosting an afternoon bible study covering the same topics on the following Wednesdays at 2:00 pm at St Margaret’s. 9. Trinity’s annual vestry meeting will take place on Sunday, February 22nd following the service. Vestry reports will be available to be picked up next Sunday and you are encouraged to also review the Regional Memorandum of Agreement before hand, which is available at the back of the church.
10. We will be having a regional service on Easter Saturday (April 4th) at 8:00 pm at St Margaret’s. Please come join us for a confirmation service and the signing of the Regional Memorandum with Bishop Shaw.
11. We are looking for volunteers to help out in the office on Fridays with folding bulletins and other similar tasks. Please contact Gillian if you would like to help with this, or feel free to stop by the office on a Friday!

Trinity ACW Ladies hosted June Potluck Luncheon
On Tuesday, June 3, 2025 Potluck Lunch – The Anglican Church Women (ACW) from Trinity Church Barrie and St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church enjoyed a potluck luncheon and speakers from the Elizabeth Fry Society (EFS). The luncheon was organized by Mae Harasymiw and Lana Johnson and served by the gentlemen of Trinity. After lunch, Hannah Legere and Emma Coleman from the Elizabeth Fry Society spoke about the EFS and its important role in Barrie, Simcoe County and Muskoka. They were joined at the meeting by Meaghan Chambers, Executive Director, and Victoria Muchmaker, Residential Manager from 102 Maple St, Barrie. The ACW donated the proceeds of the luncheon to the Elizabeth Fry Society.
The ACW Ladies would like to thank George Craig, Alexander Hamilton, Ray Martinelli, Jim Laking, Barry Mitchell, Peter Rodger and Bill Sergeant for setting up, serving, and cleaning up after the luncheon.
